Green Coffee Basic Course / Foundation SCA
The Basic Green Coffee Course is a full immersion day that aims to give a solid foundation of knowledge on the path of coffee from the nursery, to the plantation first steps to the international markets.
During the course, which allows access, if desired, to the SCA green foundation exam, topics such as coffee species, the main work processes on the plantation, classification systems by type of defects and by sieve are covered. During the course you will also learn the basics of cupping, the technical way of professional assessment leading to the coffee specialty system.
- SCA - The course allows you to access, if asked, the SCA Green Coffee foundation exam. This exam is requested, in combination with other exams, to get all the SCA diplomas.

SCA Certification
At the end of this course it is possible to take part to the SCA Green foundation level certification. Anyone wishing to take part in the certification exams are asked to report it to us when registering for the course. Green Coffee Course
Our Green Coffee Course is a full immersion day that aims to deepen all the key concepts that surround the green coffee.
We start with an overview of the coffee varietals: from arabica and robusta to the bourbon, typica, geisha, SL28 and so on…
Then we continue with the coffee cultivation, both in harvesting and in processing (natural, washed, honey ...).
Then we learn how the coffee is classified: by size, altitude, density and number of defect, from the New York system to the concept of the coffee specialty (more than 80 points) and Cup of Excellence (more than 90).
Getting to know the raw material in the best way is essential for the coffee roaster, but also for the barista to extract the best from his coffee and offer his client the most satisfying sensory experience.
The course allows take part to the SCA Green Coffee foundation exam, which can be held at the end of the day.
